My Biography

 

Augusta Dell’Omo is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Center for Presidential History at Southern Methodist University. She received her Ph.D. in History from the University of Texas at Austin in 2022. Her research focuses broadly on U.S. domestic politics, extremism, and technology.

Augusta's current book project Saving Apartheid: White Supremacist Internationalism at the Cold War’s End is the first examination of the “pro-apartheid” movement’s organizing in the United States and South Africa. Her work has been published in Cold War History and Diplomatic History. You can find her work in Washington Post, Inkstick Media, AJ+, and CNN International. Her research is supported by the Mellon Foundation, the American Council of Learned Societies, the Social Science Research Council, the Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations, the Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center, and the Clements Center for National Security, among others.

Committed to bringing data-backed insights across academic, policymaking, and the public spaces, Augusta works as an Associate Policy Researcher at the Bridging Divides Initiative at Princeton University. Previously, Augusta produced two podcasts - Right Rising and 15 Minute History.
